The Oklahoma Stockdog Association, was created in the 1986 from a group of
interested dog trialers and herding enthusiasts. The new association held its first trial at the
1986 Oklahoma State Fair. It is comprised of people and dogs that work both cattle and
sheep. The Association was active in providing help for the USBCHA National Sheepdog
Finals when they were held in El Reno in 1999 and 2000 and has a strong showing at the
Tulsa and Oklahoma State Fair dog trials each year. Although still a small club, the
members are active and provide a good showing with their dogs at various trials in
Oklahoma as well as Missouri, Arkansas and Kansas. The club provides playdays and
information for folks that are interested in getting into stockdogs, either trained or just a
puppy. .

Schedule
11:00 Work dogs , round pen, arena and field available. Break
for
lunch and meeting then we can resume working if you would
like.
12:30 Cook out hamburgers, baked beans and cold slaw
(please bring desserts if you can)
After lunch Dog of year awards will be presented and brief
membership meeting will be held. Please forward items you
would like to be on the agenda in advance. We will discuss the
plans for state fair and upcoming
fall trials.
Playday will be at Farm of David & Susan Bennett just north
of Alex, Ok.
Sheep will be hair sheep. We will be working replacement ewe
lambs, please be sure you have control of your dogs so that no
sheep are injured, replacement cost will be 150.00.
Participants will be responsible for keeping dogs not working
on leash and under control at all times.
Please let me know you are coming so that we can have a
count and have sufficient hamburgers and fixins!
