The Oklahoma Stockdog Association was created in
the 1986 from a group of interested dog trialers and
herding enthusiasts. The new association held its first
trial at the 1986 Oklahoma State Fair. It is comprised
of people and dogs that work both cattle and sheep.
The Association was active in providing help for the
USBCHA National Sheepdog Finals when they were
held in El Reno in 1999 and 2000 and has a strong
showing at the Tulsa and Oklahoma State Fair dog
trials each year. Although still a small club, the
members are active and provide a good showing with
their dogs at various trials in Oklahoma as well as
Missouri, Arkansas and Kansas. The club provides
playdays and information for folks that are interested in
getting into stockdogs, either trained or just a puppy. If
